Bio BeeTM Potentiated Bee Pollen.

Pollen is a wonderful food - full of Nature's Goodness. Potentiation makes it even better.

What is pollen?

Pollen is a special tissue produced in the stamen part of the flower in flowering plants. It is designed to carry the male DNA safely to the female egg so that reproduction can occur and a seed formed. It contains the vitamins, minerals, essential amino acids, proteins, antioxidants and all the nutrition to sustain life for the essential task carried out by the pollen. Pollen is so essential that the plant provides it with the very best of nutrition, just as we provide for our children.

Pollen can be transported by wind, such as with Pine, or by insects, such as with roses. Our special product only uses pollen collected by honey bees.

When foraging, the bee climbs over the stamen to reach the nectar deep in the flower and brushes against the pollen. It may also emit a high pitched buzz to loosen the pollen to make it easier to collect.

The pollen covers the body of the bee. The bee brushes off the pollen and pushes it into sacs, pollen baskets, on its hind legs (like cargo pants pockets) and packs it down in these pollen baskets hard.

As the bee travels from flower to flower, it collects a variety of pollen which it takes back to the hive. As the bees return to the hive, they scramble through a patented pollen trap, which gently brushes off some, but not all, of the pollen into collection trays. The bees are not harmed by this process, neither are they entirely stripped of pollen, which they need as their protein food source.

Note that pollen is a product of the plant, not the bee. All the bee does is collect it.

Pollen cells are small, light and the nutrition in the cell is relatively dry and concentrated, hence it is valuable for human consumption. Our pollen is collected from New Zealand wild flowers. It is a highly concentrated vegetable food with all the essential nutrients to maintain life.

The History of Bee Pollen:

All through history pollen has been referred to as a complete food. Pollen was used as a food and tonic in Chinese, Egyptian, Greek, European, Inca, and North American Indian history. Hypocrites and Pythagoras both prescribed bee pollen for its healing properties and American Indians wore pouches containing Bee Pollen around their necks to eat on long journeys to sustain a high energy level. In these ancient cultures pollen was surrounded by mystique; offering long life, improved sexual prowess and prolonged wellness. Scientists have studied pollen in modern times and have confirmed that it is a near perfect food containing all 22 elements that our body needs and will confirm many benefits when taken regularly.

Honey and pollen combination was used to treat burns and other skin injuries in India and South America. Bee Pollen mixed with honey and warm milk has traditionally been used for sore throats and laryngitis. in Europe. Honey and pollen poultices were used for treatment of respiratory ailments including bronchitis and asthma. Bee Pollen was also an ingredient used for an Oriental anti-ageing formulation along with honey, ginseng and orange peel.

Nutritional Value of Bee Pollen:

Bee pollen contains most known nutrients, including those necessary for human survival. When compared to any other food it contains a higher percentage of all necessary nutrients. It contains at least 18 amino acids, more than 27 vitamins, 28 minerals, 11 enzymes or co-enzymes, 24 beneficial fatty acids, and 11 carbohydrates, and is rich in minerals but low in calories. It is a very rich source of flavonoid antioxidants, perhaps the richest known. These antioxidants protect against ageing and many illnesses caused by free radicals, such as produced by radiation, chemicals and other pollutants. Of all natural foods bee pollen is claimed to be the most complete and complex. All these nutrients are in a natural perfectly balanced cell of pollen and bees instinctively collect the best pollen. They also collect pollen species that contain little water as they do not want to be carting water back to their hives. So the pollen collected is nutrient rich and you, as a consumer, get the advantage of buying nutrition - not water.

Bee pollen differs from area to area and collection times during the year. This variation explains why capsules vary in colour during the year. Indeed, multifloral wild flower pollen is the best and one should expect some variation depending which plants are in flower.
