My main concern with this trap is how quickly it was rust as I don’t think it’s a high quality galvanising. Fine for the price. Too soon to comment on that and I sprayed mine with fish oil (smelly & sticky) to hopefully give it a longer life in the weather. The back door design could have been easier to open and close but it’s acceptable. The sensitivity of the plate is adjustable and it works well in testing. Not much height for very cats/possums, but I’m sure some will go in. Gaps in the bars would be too wide for most rats. Spring loaded door seems to work well. No catches yet, but that is not the trap’s fault.

So, the trap seems of good quality and functions well with good adjustability. The back door could have a better locking system and the instructions don’t even say exactly how that should work. Easy enough to find a way that suits. Not ideal for cats and larger animals that don’t like to squeeze into tighter spaces. Bumping the door could also potentially release it prematurely. Once closed, the spring loaded door is very secure as long as there is no debri obstructing the door when it closes. Most rats cannot escape through the gaps unless they are tiny. I own 2 of these cages now. Very efficient order and delivery process.
